2024 Case CE Pneumatic Tire Roller PT240D
PT240D Pneumatic Tire RollerThe hardworking CASE PT240D pneumatic tire roller is built for both sub-base and asphalt compaction on large-scale road and highway projects, airport runways and other large commercial developments. So, it’s ready for any terrain that happens to be in front of it. This behemoth has an operating weight of 21,380 lbs., but it can ballast up to 52,910 lbs., depending on the need. That adjustability means versatility, fewer passes and improved compaction. The offset rear tires ensure a consistent linear load. And the triple-filtration system provides long pump life and uniform spraying. Up top, it features automotive style pedals and steering, as well as dual workstations to suit the job. And with easy access to all your service points, you can get down to business faster.
Features may include:
Many Rollers in One- The ability to ballast the PT240D using steel, sand and water allows the roller to compact a broader variety of lifts and materials, and complete work that may otherwise require numerous different-sized rollers.
- The tire configuration – four in front and four in back – feature a two-inch overlap and a total compaction width of 78 in. The rubber-tired roller kneads hot mix asphalt gently as it rolls. The result is greater asphalt density and fewer voids in the finished product.
- An iso-static front axle allows each of the front tires to oscillate three degrees in either direction, as well as up and down. This ensures contact with the ground at all times to minimize bridging and further improve compaction.
- The central tire inflation system ensures consistent inflation of all eight tires and allows for easy, on-the-fly adjustment of tire pressure to meet ground conditions and compaction needs.
- Two operating stations with centrally located controls provide optimal visibility to the edge of the compaction zone no matter which side of the machine it’s on. Options include an enclosed cab with heat.
- The PT240D meets Tier 4 Final emissions regulations through a combination Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) aftertreatment system. That means no lifetime service that’s typically associated with a DPF.
